Sébastien Provencher is interested in interdisciplinary work, in hybrid forms at the confines of several disciplines, where body and movement are always at the heart of the artistic proposal. He approaches performing art as an object of socio-political engagement, proposing a choreographic art that confronts, questions and moves.

Based in Montreal, Sébastien is a dance artist that evolves in the contemporary dance field as a choreographer and a performer. As of today, he has created l’Apologie du Prince Charmant (2015), Children of Chemistry (2017), Two Skeletons (2019) and he is now working on two new co-creations Bones&Wires (2020) and What will Come (2020). His work has been presented in Quebec (Agora de la danse, Tangente, ZH Festival), in Ontario (Dance Matters, Citadel + Compagnie), Germany and France. He is also an associate artist of Lorganisme, a structure for independant choreographers since 2020.

One local choreographer he is inspired by is Louise Bédard and globally he is inspired by works of Michele Rizzo & Jefa Van Dinther.
