Constellation 2/12

In our second Constellation, we invited Rósa Ómarsdóttir who is an Icelandic choreographer based in Brussels. She studied Dance in the Icelandic Academy of the Arts and later Choreography in Brussels’ P.A.R.T.S. she brought her research project Secondhand Knowledge which is a collaboration among her, Ásrún Magnúsdóttir & Hákon Pálsson. This is an ongoing project evolving around the positioning of knowledge as Firsthand or Secondhand. We felt that bringing this research process an presenting it and trying it our within the context of the Iranian Contemporary Dance Scene would be very relevant, if not urgent. During the 2-week process we made it possible for Rósa to get int ouch with and interview a group of dance practitioners from Iran, be it first or second generation of practitioners post Islamic Revolution. During the second week, a group of young dance practitioners gathered within the framework of a workshop in which the topic of Secondhand knowledge was introduced and together processed.
